Albion trail at half time in the FA Cup semi-final after Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus scored after just three minutes.
Albion subsequently had half chances through Anthony Knockheart and Davy Propper.
Kyle Walker appeared to headbutt Ali Jahanbakhsh just after the half hour.
Both players were given a yellow card although Brighton fans felt that Walker should have been sent off.
The incident was reviewed using VAR – the video assistant referee.
The Seagulls are still very much in the match and will kick towards their own fans – the bigger contingent – in the second half.
