Kemptown Carnival Benefit

Dende plus guests

This gig promises to be a stormer of a night – Dende is a party band playing an up-for-it mix of tunes with a firm rooting in Afro-Latin rhythms. From Cumbia to Calypso, Samba to Flamenco and Latin Dub, they always get the dance floor bouncing and this night, taking place in the gilded ballroom of the Brighton Spiegeltent will be a hot and wild one.

Dende is an Afro Brazilian word. It is the rich red palm oil used in cooking all across West Africa and the African diaspora world wide and this word is celebrated in the passionate songs of North Eastern Brazil.

The acts on this night are helping to raise funds for the much loved Kemptown Carnival – Brighton’s longest running free community, street arts festival which is seeking support to take place this summer, so by coming along and shaking your booty, you’re also being incredibly selfless and altruistic. Who knew it could be so easy to live a charitable life!
