Last month, the Brighton & Hove News music team were fortunate to have caught The Slow Readers Club in concert at The Haunt in Brighton and enjoyed the gig so much that I personally have been purchasing their special Slow Brew Beer on sale at the venue ever since. Mind you £5.50 for a single tin, is taking the Michael a bit! Anyway, onto things more positive and support on that night came from an outfit called BRIDGES.

They were rather good indeed and their current members Ethan, Josh, Henry, Farkas and Chess, must have been rather pleased with themselves as the venue was virtually full when they took to the stage. They had that polished air about them as they offer up indie rock tunes with powerful vocals that would suit fans of Kings Of Leon, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Embrace and the like. I would imagine that Radio 2 listeners would be more than happy to listen to BRIDGES.

As part of their set they performed a brand new track entitled ‘Wishbone’, which made use of that echoey guitar sound achieved by the likes of Richard Hawley, and unleashed a track entitled ‘BFF’, which reminded me of the early style U2 drumming. They also performed all four tracks from their ‘On And On Like This’ EP, which you can enjoy HERE.

Well now BRIDGES are back with some new music which you can listen to HERE and watch their latest video for ‘Amor’ HERE as well as enjoying their video for ‘Ghouls’ HERE.

BRIDGES are planning ahead and so have now also announced ‘The Wishbone tour’, which will be taking in ten venues right up and down the country, including a date here in Brighton at The Prince Albert on Friday 1st November.

For those of you that have visited this iconic venue before, then you will be aware of not only the Dead Pop Stars wall on the outside of the building that faces up towards Brighton Mainline Railway Station, but also that concerts take place upstairs and the capacity is only around 100 people. So if you are thinking of attending this gig, then I would suggest that it would be wise to buy your tickets sooner rather than later as it will no doubt sell out!

Therefore you can purchase your tickets from BRIDGES 1st November gig at The Prince Albert HERE.

You can find out more information more on BRIDGES HERE.
