A man has been arrested by police hours after they published CCTV pictures of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a number of women on Hove seafront.
Sussex Police said: “Police have arrested a man following reports of women being sexually assaulted around the Hove Lawns area.
“A 59-year-old man, from Hove, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in custody, following an appeal for information on Thursday (13 November).
“The investigation is ongoing into reports of women being approached by a man on Hove Lawns and the surrounding area while exercising or resting post-exercise.
“The suspect is reported to have engaged the victims in conversation – typically between 4.30am and 9.30am – before sexually assaulting them over their clothing.
“Anyone with information is that could help the investigation is asked to contact police online or via 101, quoting Operation August, occurrence 47250215343.”
