Naomi Wood Creates A ‘Monster’ – Preview

Naomi Wood is a remarkable performer who takes a look at her world and disrupts it for your delectation, whether in her poetry, spoken word performance or her theatre shows like the acclaimed Gobbess and now the much anticipated Monster which opened at the weekend.

She is ‘a force of nature’ who will reconnect you with the ferocious and ravenous within. She celebrates rebellion and revels in rage while maintaining a healthy preoccupation with the eroticism of bird feeders, often delivered while performing aerial feats.

‘When little girls become unruly women, monsters make their own mythology’.

Monster is show for anyone who has been afraid to dip their toe in or felt all at sea. A true story about feeling exposed in the ocean and learning to love both people and pond life.

A ‘highly relatable’ true story that will leave you feeling ‘seen’. This is a show about the transformative power of chucking yourself in the deep end.

This one-woman show is funny, life affirming and many-tentacled and is for anyone who has ever been afraid.

Naomi is supported by punk performance poet Bessie Gracie. Known for her musical musings, feel good feminism and general silliness. Frequently found shoeless on the Monday of a music festival telling a 70-year-old geezer “punk was better in my day”.

This is going to be a night of many delights. Join me to be amazed, titillated and thought provoked at The Old Market. I can assure you that will not be disappointed.
