Armed police arrest a man in Findon Road in BrightonBrighton

Armed police arrested a man in Brighton this morning (Monday 7 September), according to neighbours.

Officers were said to have been responding to reports that a man had been seen with a weapon.

They ordered neighbours to stay inside as they were deployed in Findon Road.

Sussex Police said: “Police received a report of a man with a suspected firearm in Findon Road, Brighton, at about 10.30am on Monday 7 September.

“Officers, including armed officers, attended the scene and a man has been arrested.

“He remains in custody at this time and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.

“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area while a further search of an address is completed.

“Anyone with further information can report it to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 583 of 07/09, if they have not already done so.”
