The arrests were made by officers deployed as part of Operation Dragonfly, the annual Christmas crackdown on drink and drug driving.

At 9.22am Sussex Roads Police tweeted: “And would you believe it: here comes the fourth drug driving arrest within an hour or so at Rottingdean, this time for cocaine. All four picked up on the same stretch of the A259.”

Brighton and Hove police tweeted: “Our team had been out for just an hour before they made their fourth arrest for drug driving in Rottingdean.

“If you know someone is driving while over the limit or after taking drugs, call 999.”

At least one of the drivers was believed to have been under the influence of cannabis.

The sun was still low in the sky when the first suspected drug driver was stopped between the Rottingdean High Street traffic lights and the Greenways roundabout for Ovingdean.

Ad on Saturday night (18 December) a driver in Brighton was held on suspicion of drink driving and having cocaine.

Police said that he took a roadside breath test which suggested that he had 82 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – more than twice the legal limit of 35 micrograms.

On Sunday (19 December) Sussex Roads Police tweeted: “Last night we arrested a drink driver in Brighton who blew 82 at the roadside.

“He failed to provide a specimen in custody and was also in possession of cocaine. He was cautioned for the cocaine and charged to court for failing to provide a specimen.”

Greens – PC liberals – woke snowflakes – multi diversity- social inclusivity- and drug dealers will take advantage and exploit the dumb morons who take drugs. Well done Brighton!
