Several police cars were involved in a 12-mile chase which started in Brighton yesterday lunchtime (Thursday 19 October).

Officers received a report of a stolen car in Richmond Terrace, Brighton, at about 1.30pm.

A number of vehicles were damaged before the car, a silver Volkswagen (VW), was finally stopped in Worthing.

Sussex Police said: “Officers stopped the vehicle in North Street, Worthing, following a pursuit and arrested a 31-year-old man.”

At least three police cars appeared to have been damaged during the chase.

No one was reported to have been injured.

All that for a stolen car ????? Car value ??? £2500 max, cost of pursuit ???? probably £150000 in the Police budget. Should be allowed to ram the monkey from soon as possible. Not just to save money but 11 miles of potential death on the roads.

The headline is “Police cars damaged…..” but the text states “A number of vehicles were damaged…….” Does that number include non police vehicles? And how did the police cars get damaged? Did they crash into one another, or into other vehicles?

It doesn’t matter that vehicles got damaged. What matters is that some lowlife ends up in cuffs
