Brighton Morrison’s closes for emergency maintenance work

Police investigating a report of an assault on a boy outside a supermarket in Brighton have appealed for witnesses and information to come forward.

The incident happened outside Morrison’s in St James’s Street at about 7.15pm on June 5.

A seven-year-old boy was walking with his family leaving the store.

As he walked, he was pushed over by a man walking in the other direction, causing him to fall backwards. The boy was not injured, but was left shaken.

Officers are investigating and want any pedestrians or witnesses in the area who saw what happened to come forward.

The man was described as a man of large build, possibly in his 20s, with a brown beard.

He wore a blue woollen hat, a light blue or grey shirt, dark blue scarf, blue lanyard, and dark trousers.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to report it to Sussex Police online or on 101, quoting serial 1448 of 05/06.

Probably deserved it. Kids these days have no spatial awareness and their parents think their darling womb spawn can do as they wish.

7 year old kid… how could any 7 year old ever deserve to be pushed over?

Morrisons and Police need to step up their game. Some simple changes could cut down and even eradicate such behaviour. It needs to be designed out

Stop housing drug addicts from London in hostels in every street would be a start. One of these people was waving a sword at tourists in New Steine a few weeks ago. The council needs to get a grip and help the police sort the area out by reviewing all these contracts.

Do you mean the Supported and Emergency Accommodations? There’s a whole swamp of legalisation to contend with regarding rights and statutory duties of local authority, that’s way too comprehensive to go through here. However, the Cabinet meeting on the 27th last month actually starts to work on this very issue.
