Police investigating the rape of an 18-year-old woman in a doorway in Brighton are to revisit the area a week after the attack to look for more witnesses.
Officers will be speaking to clubbers and people in the city centre tonight (Monday 3 February).
They are trying to trace anyone who was in the area last Monday (27 January) night and may have information about the rape.
The victim was on a night out with friends when she was attacked between 3.30am and 4.30am on Tuesday (28 January).
She was in a doorway near the seafront when two black men approached her. One of the men then raped her.
The victim is uncertain exactly where the assault happened but detectives believe that it was in the area around Middle Street, King’s Road and the southern end of West Street.
Detective Inspector Julie Wakeford said: “We’re looking for anyone who was out in the city centre late in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the area where the victim was attacked.
“They may not be aware of our previous appeals and could have seen the attack taking place but not realised what was going on.
“Since the attack they could also have picked up information from friends about what happened but not passed it on to us.
“We urgently need to find out what people know.”
The attacker was described as black and 18 to 20 years old. He was wearing a black Puffa-style jacket and black NY baseball cap.
