With the transfer window set to run for another three weeks Albion will be looking to hold on to some of their prized possessions.
The main subject of attention appears to be Brighton-born central defender Lewis Dunk.
At 23, Dunk is one of five surviving current members of the first team squad who played in the memorable first ever game at Falmer in which the Seagulls beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1.
Breaking into the first team during Gus Poyet’s tenure in 2010, Dunk was thrust into the limelight due to unfortunate injuries to the now departed Tommy Elphick and Adam El-Abd.
A graceful and quick centre back he is this seasons top scorer on 6 goals.
Known to be a quiet lad off the pitch he has courted controversy after being being acquitted of sexual assault and voyeurism along with 4 other young players , in 2013 after a retrial.
Both West Ham and West Bromwich Albion are both known to be tracking the player , who has captained the Seagulls this season. With West Brom rumoured to be considering a £2m bid .
Although, Albion are thought to want keep hold of the player, who has made one appearance for England Under 21’s.
