A stunning sight has risen in the skies above Brighton and Hove this evening – a ring around the moon within which Jupiter can be seen.
The beautiful scene was captured by photographer Guy Hollingworth.
The halo around the moon is caused by light refracting through ice crystals in high, thin cirrus clouds.
Jupiter is almost at the closest point to the earth in its orbit, which it will reach on Friday, February 6.
