A man from Brighton has been charged with drug driving after police found him in a badly parked car at 5am one morning just before Christmas.

Sussex Police said: “A 29-year-old man has become the latest to be charged with an offence as part of Sussex Police’s Christmas crackdown on drink and drug driving.

“Neil El-Komboz was arrested at 5am on (Monday) 22 December after officers found him in a car that was parked across two bays in a car park at Brighton Marina.

“El-Komboz, of Ditchling Rise, Brighton, has now been charged with drug driving.

“He was released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on (Tuesday) 5 May.

“A total of 134 people have so far been charged with offences as part of the December Operation Dragonfly campaign.”

The force added: “People in Sussex can text officers on 65999 with the details of people they suspect of drink or drug driving or visit www.operationcrackdown.co.uk.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

“To keep up to date with officers looking for drink drivers, follow #opdragonfly on Twitter.

“If you know someone is driving while over the limit or after taking drugs call 999.”
