A man needed hospital treatment after was robbed at knifepoint on his way home from Portslade Station last night (Thursday 18 February).
The 54-year-old victim was hit round the head as he walked up Benfield Way at about 10.30pm, leaving with him a cut and feeling shaken.
Sussex Police said: “Two boys were stood behind him, one carrying a metal bar and the other a knife. They demanded he hand over his wallet and phone.
“The victim gave them around £35 cash before they then ran off towards Old Shoreham Road.
“One of the offenders is described as black, between 16 and 17 years of age, around 5ft 6in and was wearing a dark hooded jumper.
“The second boy is white, about the same age, around 5ft and of slim build with dark, messy hair.”
Detective Sergeant Julie Greenwood said: “The victim suffered a cut to his head and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“While he did not suffer serious injuries he has been left understandably shaken.
“We would like anyone who saw something suspicious in the area to come forward.”
