Firefighters have put out a blaze at a property in Brighton this morning (Friday 13 May).
They were called out to the deal with the first-floor fire just before 10.30am with fears that there were people trapped inside the building.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “Three appliances, two from Brighton and one from Hove, were sent to Dyke Road Drive at 10.29am.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire, which was located on the first floor of the property, using one hose reel jet.
“Everybody was accounted for and the fire is now out.”
Earlier today, at about 2.30am, firefighters rescued a girl who had become trapped under a gate in Old Steine, Brighton.
Just after 6pm yesterday (Thursday 12 May) fire crews from Preston Circus and Roedean rescued two people who were stuck in a lift in Chadbourne Close, Brighton.
And just before 10pm last night firefighters from Hove were sent to Trafalgar Road, Portslade, after reports of a dangerous structure. They used a 12-metre ladder to secure a flag pole.
