A child has been taken to hospital suffering from burns after a fire at a house in Peacehaven.
The eight-year-old girl was one of eight people injured in the fire which took hold in the first floor of a two-storey house in Collingwood Close.
Six adults suffered from the effects of breathing in smoke while another had injuries to their face.
Fire crews took more than two hours to put out the blaze which was reported at about 2.15am yesterday (Tuesday 28 December).
Investigators from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and Sussex Police are trying to establish how the fire started.
