A popular Brighton park is due to have its dog-free area reinstated today two years after it was removed without notice.
The decision to bring back the dog-free area in Queen’s Park was made by Councillor Geoffrey Theobald at a Brighton and Hove City Council meeting in November.
The council’s cabinet member for environment made his decision after a local campaign which won widespread support.
More than 2,000 individuals signed a petition to back the campaign, including dog owners.
As a result of the cross-party campaign the council carried out a consultation with 382 responses favouring the return of a dog-free area. Just 14 people opposed the move.
