Britain’s biggest free yoga festival returns to Brighton and Hove

Britain’s biggest free yoga festival returns to Brighton and Hove at the weekend at a bigger venue after more than 3,000 people went along last year.

The fourth annual Brighton Yoga Festival takes place at the Sussex County Cricket Ground in Hove on Saturday 8 July and Sunday 9 July. Last year it was at the Dome.

The festival has grown since 2014 to become Britain’s largest free entry yoga festival and the organisers particularly welcome those who have never tried yoga before but would like to give it a go.

They added that experienced yogis could also experience plenty of great international, national and local teachers.

This year the festival will feature more than 100 yoga classes, therapy and meditation sessions, specialist and kids yoga classes and talks about yoga and wellbeing.

While the festival is funded by sponsors and retailers, those attending classes are asked to make a voluntary donation to help cover the costs.

People wishing to attend are urged to book in advance online.

The festival is run by the Brighton Yoga Foundation, a registered charity which aims to get the whole city doing yoga – to spread the physical and mental benefits of yoga to the wider community.

The main sponsor and partner this year is Yogamatters – Britain’s biggest provider of yoga equipment and clothing.

The festival runs from 9.45am to 7pm on Saturday and from 9.45am to 6pm on Sunday.

For more information visit the Brighton Yoga Foundation website or Facebook page.
