A cyclist is thought to have been involved in an accident which left a boy with a fractured skull in Brighton yesterday.
The 14-year-old schoolboy was groggy and confused following the incident on the Upper Lewes Road but told police officers he thought he had been hit by a bike. The boy can’t remember the exact location where it happened.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 4.30pm and 5pm – and in particular for the cyclist themselves to come forward.
PC Stuart Kenway, of the East Sussex road policing unit, said: “The boy, from a local address, sustained a fractured skull and concussion, and was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
“In trying to establish what exactly happened we’d like to talk to any witnesses and also ask the cyclist to come forward.”
