A man exposed himself on Brighton seafront then attacked two police officers as they tried to arrest him.

Both officers were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton but were not detained.

Members of the public helped restrain the suspected flasher who was arrested on suspicion of obstructing and assaulting a police officer.

The incident happened outside Alfresco café and restaurant in King’s Road Arches, Brighton, at about 6.30pm yesterday (Monday 20 June).

This morning the 35-year-old suspect was still in custody.

Any witnesses are asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
