Demonstraters marched from the council offices in Hove to Brighton Town Hall this afternoon as part of day of Europe-wide protests about government cuts.
Those taking part included politicians, union members and community groups.
Their day of protests in Brighton started outside the Jubilee Library in Jubilee Street, Brighton, at 7.30am.
In Hove, protesters rallied outside King’s House in Grand Avenue at 4pm.
They marched along Western Road on their way to Brighton Town Hall.
Outside the town hall those gathered were told that there were better ways to tackle budget deficits and deal with the financial and economic crisis caused by the banking collapse.
The protests were taking place as finance ministers from across the European Union met in Brussels.
