Brighton's busiest bus stops due to return to normal today

Buses should be able to use the busiest stops in the centre of Brighton once again after repairs to a gas leak are completed today (Monday 25 October).

The bus stops – in Western Road outside the Churchill Square shopping centre – have been closed since Wednesday.

One trader said yesterday (Saturday 23 October) that there had been a small but noticeable fall in the number of customers during the work.

He added that the car parks behind Churchill Square seemed to have picked up some of the slack.

Most routes operated by Brighton and Hove Buses have been affected.

It is not clear what time the gas leak repair team will be finished but even if the morning rush hour is disrupted, the evening rush hour is expected to see a return to normal.
