Brighton & Hove Albion 0 Crystal Palace 2
The Albion lost their second leg semi-final play-off at the Amex to two Wilfried Zaha goals.
Although the Albion had chances in the first half with Will Buckley and Andrea Orlandi forcing saves from Julian Speroni they were unable to make the most of these.
Palace themselves had an early chance when Aaron Wilbraham tried to deflect Joel Ward’s off-target effort goalwards.
Early in the second half Zaha sent Jonathan Williams away for Palace but he dragged his shot wide.
Ashley Barnes nearly changed the game for Albion almost immediately after coming on as a substitute but saw his lobbed effort saved on to the cross bar by Speroni. From the resulting corner Barnes’s header was headed off the line by Dean Moxey.
Zaha scored a diving header from a Yannick Bolasie cross on 70 minutes.
Then with two minutes to go he was fed by Kagisho Dikgacoi on the edge of the area to fire high into the net.
Albion’s lacklustre performance will cast doubt on which personnel will remain at the club next season.
Wonder if there is a plan to torture albion fans for as long as possible by this paper?
