Cyclist attacks bus driver in Hove

A cyclist attacked a bus driver in Hove and smashed the window of his bus.

The bus driver suffered a head injury in the attack and was treated by paramedics.

Police have urged witnesses to come forward.

Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to New Church Road at 1.10pm on Wednesday (25 June) to reports of a cyclist assaulting a bus driver.

CCTV Hove cyclist 20140625“It was reported there had been an altercation between a bus and a bike and the cyclist had smashed the window of the bus and attacked the driver.

“He had then ridden off in the direction of Portslade.”

The cyclist was described as a white man in his late twenties or early thirties, wearing a dark blue suit and carrying a leather shoulder bag. He was riding a white racing-style bike.

Anyone who saw what happened or has any information is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk.

    As a bus driver in Brighton I can understand that cycling in the city has it problems, but as there are cycle lanes for the use of.
    The cyclists don’t use them and flout the road traffic laws on all counts which makes it very dangerous for other road users especially large vehicles such as lorry’s and buses.if the cyclists took more notice of the rules of the road there would be far less problems.
