Another severe weather warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office this morning, with lightning and more than an inch of rain in two or three hours possible in places.
The yellow be aware warning is in place from midday to 9pm today, with heavy downpours predicted to move from Hampshire to Kent as the day progresses.
Localised flooding is possible in some areas.
The Met’s Chief Forecaster says: “An unstable and moist flow across southern parts of Britain will provide the basis for some intense showers through today.
“With the winds lighter than recent days, these will last longer where they do occur, perhaps producing in excess of 30 mm of rain in two or three hours in a few localities. But as so often happens on showery days, some places will escape the worst.”
Yellow warnings of rain again! Please take extra care out and about and keep an eye on the Met Office advice! http://t.co/pd2ESqlsf4
