Today’s Bank Holiday Monday in Brighton and Hove was officially a washout with more than an inch of rain falling during the day.

The Newhaven Weather Station Twitter account said that by 10.30pm it had recorded 29.5mm of rain today.

Temp: 16.1 (15.2/16.9)°C. Apparant: 15.8°C. Wind: 5.9 (20.7) kts N. Rain Today: 29.5mm Barometer: 1004.7hPa (-0.3) #UKWeather

But the bad weather didn’t deter these tourists who donned bright blue plastic ponchos to brave the seafront.

And this little chap was also doing his best to stay dry during the deluge.

Meanwhile, others admired the wet weather from the comfort of their cars:

The weather was horrible! Perfect for staying in and getting some jobs done! Is it just me, or are the “tourists” all Sea Life workers, as shown from them all wearing the Sea Life uniform under the ponchos? Love the other pictures though, especially the little Lego guy.
