Booze and fags stolen in raid on Whitehawk Co-op

The Co-op in Whitehawk has been cordoned off after burglars broke in in the early hours of the morning.

Sussex Police said: “We were contacted after the burglar alarm was set off at Co-op in Whitehawk Road, Whitehawk, at 2am today (Tuesday 23 September).

“Intruders forced their way into the shop while it was closed and took a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

“At this stage we are still trying to confirm exactly what was stolen. Crime scene investigators are currently at the scene collecting evidence.

“Anyone with information should email quoting serial 72 of 23/09, call 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
