Mugger attacks and robs woman in Brighton street
A mugger punched a woman during a robbery in a Brighton street in broad daylight.
The robbery happened in Elm Grove, Brighton, as the 19-year-old woman was leaning into her car.
The thug reached into the woman’s car and tried to grab her handbag, Sussex Police said.
But she refused to let go of it so he punched her and managed to wrest her bag from her.
She was left with a bruised face after the attack which happened at about 11.20am on Monday (29 December).
The cream coloured handbag contained personal items and a cash which she was about to take to the bank.
The man was described as black, in his mid to late twenties, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall and of stocky build. He was wearing loose black jogging bottoms and a black hooded top.
Anyone who saw the attack and robbery is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
