Blackpool 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 0

1) Jamie O’Hara scored his first goal against Albion since having his shirt thrown back to him by Wolves fans at the end of the match, when the Black Country men were relegated at The Amex in May 2013.

2) Like Albion teams of old, (Rochdale 1999 – Southend 2001) the current Seagulls squad appear to dislike playing in wind, rain and and generally inclement conditions. The awful Bloomfield Road pitch also put the Seagulls off their game.

3) Despite opening up a sizeable gap to the relegation places after the win against Ipswich. Albion are now just two points above Millwall who occupy the last position in the drop zone.

4) Albion mascot Shay Wheeler only learnt of his big surprise a few hours before the match . A great day for the seven year old from West Worthing despite the result .

5) Questions will again be asked of David Stockdale as he was beaten by O’Hara’s winner from well over thirty yards out .
