Man charged over Brighton shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to murder after a shooting in Brighton in January.
Adam Willis, 33, of no fixed address, is accused of attempting to murder a 39-year-old man and conspiring to murder a 24-year-old man in Elmore Road.
Willis is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 20 March).
Three men went to the address on Tuesday 27 January. One of them fired a single shot through the door which hit the 39-year-old victim but did not cause life-threatening injuries.
Two other men aged 24 and 26 have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and attempted murder. They remain on bail until Tuesday 31 March.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Rymarz, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, who is leading the investigation, said: “Although a man has been charged, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident or any suspicious vehicles, people or activity in the Elmore Road area late on Tuesday 27 January.
“We are offering a reward of £5,000 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the those responsible. Crimestoppers have also offered £5,000 on the same conditions.”
“We are continuing to support and work with the victims in this case.”
