A thug attacked a 51-year-old partially sighted man in Western Road, Brighton, in broad daylight last Friday (28 August).

Sussex Police said: “The victim had just got off the number 1 bus outside the Sony shop at 12.20pm when he was pushed by a suspect who then punched him in the head and ran off towards the seafront.”

PC James Breeds said: “The victim is partially sighted so he could not see the suspect but he is believed to be a man.

“Fortunately he did not suffer any physical injuries but he now feels vulnerable when he is out.

“We would like to speak to anyone who saw the attack, particularly a member of the public believed to be called Dean who helped the victim.”

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
