Police helicopter searches for stolen Brighton motorbike

The police helicopter hovered above Brighton and Hove for several hours today, first in search of a stolen motorbike and then to help with a dangerous driving arrest.

The chopper, NPAS Redhill, flew over Hanover, Kemp Town, the North Laine, Seven Dials and the city centre – but could not find the red and white Honda bike.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at midday on Thursday, November 26 to a report of a motorbike stolen from Providence Place in Brighton

“The red Honda bike was taken by a man believed to be in his 20s riding with no helmet. The helicopter was called to help trace the bike. It has not been traced at this stage.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 522 of 26/11.”

The helicopter was later spotted above Hove, where it is thought to be involved in an arrest for dangerous driving in St Aubyn’s Road. It’s not known at this stage whether the two incidents are connected.

A police spokeswoman said: “A 17-year-old boy from Brighton has been arrested in St Aubyn’s Road, Hove at around 2.35pm on Thursday, November 26. He was arrested for driving dangerously, driving with no licence, or insurance, drug driving, theft of vehicle, failing to stop. He is still in custody.”

It has an ability to waste large amounts of taxpayers’ money… Was it a Duncan-Smith 250 ?

Plus, it was more than half an hour, it spent that amount of time lurking above Grand Avenue…
