A mugger robbed a man in his wheelchair near the Seven Dials in Brighton in broad daylight.
Details of the robbery, which happened more than three weeks ago, were released by Sussex Police today (Wednesday 30 December).
Detectives are hoping someone may have seen the mugging or know who was responsible.
Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a vulnerable man was robbed at knifepoint close to the Seven Dials.
“At about 4.30pm on (Sunday) 6 December, the victim, who is wheelchair-bound and suffers from learning difficulties, withdrew £120 from a cash machine in Western Road.
“Shortly afterwards he got the number 7 bus to Goldsmid Road, and travelled along Vernon Terrace close to Montpelier Crescent where he was approached from behind by a man.
“The suspect, while showing the handle of a Stanley knife, asked what the victim had in his possession.
“He then searched his pockets, taking the money, before making off in the direction of the Seven Dials.
“The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-twenties, of skinny build, wearing a dark hat, dark top and light-coloured jeans.”
