A mugger knocked a man out cold and robbed him in a Brighton street.
Sussex Police said: “Police in Brighton are seeking witnesses to a street robbery which occurred between 10pm on Thursday 14 April and 2am the following morning near the junction of Hollingdean Road and Lewes Road.
“A 35-year-old man was walking along Hollingdean Road on his way home when he was attacked from behind and knocked unconscious.
“When he came round property had been stolen from his pockets, including a mobile phone and cash.
“He later needed hospital treatment for a cut eye and leg injury.”
Detective Constable Dan Aubrey-Smith, of Brighton and Hove CID, said: “Because he was struck down from behind and rendered unconscious, the victim has no knowledge of who attacked him.
“The attack happened in a busy area and there is a good chance that someone may have seen what happened or noticed people in the vicinity. Any information would be welcome.”
