Two people were injured in a fight on Brighton seafront, with one of them suffering a broken cheekbone.

Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a fight near to Shooshh night club in King’s Road Arches at around 11.20pm on (Tuesday) 19 July.

“The group were seen fighting and two door staff stepped in to intervene.

“One member of door staff suffered injuries to his arm and stomach and needed stitches. A 26-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries including a broken cheekbone.”

Detective Constable Sarah Townsend said: “The fight took place between Shooshh and Coalition night clubs and is thought to have involved a large group of people.

“It was a busy time of night and a popular area especially as it was a warm night last week. Did you see what happened?”

One man, a 26-year-old from London, has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and affray and has been bailed until Tuesday 30 August while the investigation continues.

Anyone with information or who saw what happened is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101, email or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
