Flasher follows two women, 18, after exposing himself in Brighton street

Two young women were followed by a man after seeing him expose himself.

In the early hours of this morning (Friday 23 September) at about 3am the two 18-year-olds were walking home after a night out with friends.

They parted ways with a group of friends at the bottom of Elm Grove and walked up the hill together.

The mother of one of the teenagers, who wish to remain anonymous, said: “When they passed the bus stop by Bonchurch Road, they saw a man was sitting at the bus stop with his trousers down, masturbating. They carried on walking and tried to walk away quickly.

“He started to follow behind them until they were near Totland Road, when another man came out of that road and the men started talking to each other like they knew each other.

“The two men walked behind the girls for another 50 yards or so near the Queen’s Park junction, when the girls then turned off Elm Grove and sped up to try to lose them. The men didn’t follow from then on.”

The women have little recollection of the man so have been unable to give a detailed physical description but they estimate that he was in his thirties.

One said: “Once we saw what was happening we were too scared to look at him. It was very frightening and not nice to have something like that happen near where you live.”

The incident was reported to the Sussex Police. The mother said: “The police said they are taking this seriously as it is indecent exposure.”

Anyone who saw the incident or the man or who has information is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk.

Heard this story a couple of times in the last couple of months in this area… Surely connected??

My family are originally from Russia. In Moscow, seeing drunken men masturbating at bus stops is a fairly common sight.

    And women too.
