Churchill Square has been evacuated this afternoon after a fire broke out in the car park.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in the car park at 4.35pm and are currently on the scene, a spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed.
Several people have tweeted that they have been told to leave the shopping centre – two years to the day that it was evacuated following a fire in the same place.
Staff were allowed to return to shops and offices shortly before 8pm.
