Two men have been captured on CCTV trying car doors in Hove. Sussex Police appealed for help tracing them.
The force also issued a warning, saying that men had been seen acting suspiciously around parked cars in the town.
Separately a car owner in St Andrew’s Road, Portslade, reported a sat nav being stolen from her car on Sunday night (16 April). It is not known whether the offences are linked.
The force said: “Police are appealing for more information about two men trying car doors in Hove.
“These two men have been seen walking along St Helier’s Avenue, in Hove, looking in car windows and trying the handles.
“On one occasion, on (Monday) 6 March, they got into a car and stole a sat nav and a bag left on the seat.
“Officers have focused patrols in the area and reminding residents to make sure their cars are locked and nothing is left on display.
