A live feed of Corbyn speaking to a rally in Birmingham will be broadcast to an audience of hundreds this evening as part of a multi-town rally across the UK.

Emily Thornberry will be speaking in person at the Synergy Centre alongside live streamed speech from the Labour leader who will be in Birmingham, alongside Steve Coogan and Clean Bandit.

Other towns and cities which will also have live broadcasts from Birmingham are Glasgow, Barry, Warrington and Croydon. While Corbyn has been accused of favouring safe Labour seats for his rallies, all these areas include marginal constituencies.

Organiser Libby Barnes said: “Our highest priority is to ensure that these young people actually show up to vote on June 8. This is our last final push to ensure young people vote on Thursday.

“We believe the excitement and buzz which will be created by these rallies will give our campaign the final dose of momentum needed to drive young people out to the ballot boxes in droves.

“More than ever, we need to come together and show support and solidarity for everybody who wants a better world than the one we live in now.”

In Birmingham, Clean Bandit and Steve Coogan will join Jeremy Corbyn.

In Croydon, Floating Points, Wolf Alice, Jermaine Jackman, Tanya Franks, Ben Elton will join John McDonnell.

In Warrington, Patrick Topping, Reverend and the Makers and Maxine Peake will join Rebecca Long Bailey.

In Glasgow, Funk Butcher and Becci Wallace will join Neil Findlay and Angela Feeney.

In Barry, Carolyn Harris will present the live streamed performances.

And in Brighton, Enzo Siffredi and Robb Johnson will join Emily Thornberry.

All Police leave has been cancelled so that they can wield the hoses to calm Gerald Wiley’s on-the-spot enthusiasm for this event. The Council’s Environment team is also readying itself for residents’ complaints about the vociferous Wiley cheers which will greet Corbyn’s relayed speech.
