Albion kicked off their long-awaited Premier League season with a win against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Niki Maenpaa, who signed a new contract shortly before kick-off, made a number of good saves for the Albion throughout the match.

The Seagulls won with second half goals from Jamie Murphy and Tomer Hemed.

But the ongoing worry for Seagulls fans will be the extent of the injury Anthony Knockaert sustained. Knockaert reappeared on the touchline after going off on crutches with his foot in a protective boot.

Most of the Albion squad got a runout for the match except new signing Maty Ryan who has been given extra time to recover from his participation in the Confederations Cup with Australia.
