Brighton bike thief caught on CCTV

A bike thief has been captured on CCTV in Brighton and now police are trying to identify him.

Sussex Police said today: “Police would like to speak to this man in connection with the theft of a bike in Brighton.

“The blue Mongoose mountain bike had been secured against a post with a lock, which was broken by the suspect who then made off on it.

“The incident is believed to have occurred in Lewes Road, at the junction with Melbourne Street, overnight between Monday 21 August and Tuesday 22 August.

“If you saw what happened, or if you recognise this man, you can report it online or call 101 quoting serial 940 of 23/08.

“Alternatively, you can visit the Crimestoppers website or contact the independent charity anonymously on 0800 555111.”

    Is this where we type “Oh, funny how Sussex Police can spare someone to watch hours’ worth of CCTV footage when it’s a STUDENT’S bike that’s been nicked, isn’t it? They wouldn’t do it for that lawyer the other week!”?
