Brighton middle distance runner Charlie Grice has been selected to represent England at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia next year.

He is one of 75 England athletes chosen to take part in the 2018 Games.

It will be the second time that the 23-year-old athlete has run for his country at Commonwealth level, having finished seventh in the 1,500 metres in Glasgow in 2014.

Grice, who runs for Brighton Phoenix and went to Cardinal Newman Catholic School in Hove, also reached the 1,500m final at the Rio Olympics last year, finishing 12th.

He said on Twitter that he was “delighted to be selected for my second Commonwealth Games”.
