Vegans wearing pig masks storm McDonald’s
By Nikki Harper

A group of angry vegans wearing pig masks stormed McDonald’s this evening.

The protesters are from the same organisation, Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) who have staged protests in Greggs, Hisbe, Waitrose, Jamie Oliver and the Touro steakhouse.

They arrived at the fast food restaurant in London Road at about 8pm.

From the DxE Facebook page

Blood was thrown on the floor while the protesters chanted and held up posters.

According to the group’s Facebook page, police made one arrest.

Sometimes it is necessary to disrupt peoples enjoyment of an activity that relies on the abuse and exploitation of innocent victims.

McDonald’s barely qualifies as meat to be fair.

    Interesting factoid(not)
London Road McDonald’s is only there because in 1985 when it opened there was a Marks and Spencers opposite as Mcs used to site there stores as near as possible to M&S.Big mistake as London Road M&S promptly closed in 1986.Western Rd Mcs is quite a distance from M&S because when it opened in 1976 the high Street was busy and that was the nearest they could get. So if ur ever in the mood for a Big Mac and you see a M&S…. Youll see a Mcs nearby.
