Christmas is on the way and the season of goodwill kicks off in Trafalgar Street next week. We have learned that all the door money for the Thursday 5th December Spearmint concert at the Prince Albert in Brighton will be donated to the charity Meningitis Now.

On the bill will be London-based Spearmint, who have been quietly getting on with making great albums for a couple of decades now. This year the band celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, and the 50th release on their own hitBACK label, with a brand new album ‘Are You From The Future?’ released on Friday 1st November. Two singles precede the album: ‘24 Hours In A And E’ in September and ‘St Thomas In The Darkness’ in October.
Spearmint is still Shirley, Jim, Si and Ronan and the new record is a heady, energetic, passionate and romantic exploration of the chaos we are all living through. The band feel it is one of their very best.
The band will be returning to Brighton to play the new songs, plus some choice cuts from their catalogue, and as previously stated will be live at the Prince Albert on Thursday 5th December. Support will come from Matt Cooper (AKA Leader)
