The Great Escape 2022 announce spotlight show at Brighton Dome

The Great Escape today revealed Tems, ENNY and Gabriels as the three artists to play the festival’s highly coveted Spotlight Show.

Presented by The Face, experimental Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems, South London lyricist ENNY, and LA trio Gabriels will perform at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall on Friday 13th May 2022.

Access to the Spotlight show will be via standalone tickets, available via www.greatescapefestival.com. The Great Escape 2022 ticketholders can also now register for a free ticket giveaway for The Spotlight Show with tickets being given out from a secret location on the day of the event.

The Great Escape, the festival for new music, will be kicking off the festival season by playing host to over 450 up and coming artists and music-led convention across 35 walkable venues from 11th – 14th May 2022 in Brighton. This year, The Great Escape’s coveted Spotlight show is set to showcase the most exciting new artists destined for success in 2022 and beyond:

TEMS

SPOTLIGHT – TEMS
Nigerian R&B singer-songwriter and producer Tems has seen meteoric success since leaving her job to pursue a career in music in 2018 and releasing her breakout single, the self-produced ‘Mr Rebel’. 2021 saw Tems add her distinct and powerful vocals to the chorus of Wizkid’s hit ‘Essence’, which stormed the charts globally and garnered a Justin Bieber remix, collaborate with Drake on Fountains from his recent hit album ‘Certified Lover Boy’, and the release of her second EP ‘If Orange Was A Place’.

ENNY

SPOTLIGHT – ENNY
Rising Southeast London rapper and singer ENNY is set to become one of the leading voices of the UK rap scene. Following the release of debut single ‘He’s Not Into You’, and an introduction to Hackney-based collective Root 73, lockdown track ‘Peng Black Girls’ quickly became a viral sensation with a remix featuring Jorja Smith seeing ENNY amass more than 20million streams.

ENNY says: “Proper gassed to be on the line up for this year’s TGE after my First Fifty show. It’s gonna be a sick one down in Brighton”.

GABRIELS

SPOTLIGHT – GABRIELS
LA trio Gabriels’ fusion of 60s R&B and gospel with contemporary electronica has been lauded by famous fans Elton John and Annie Mac, sold-out a London residency, and led to an appearance on ‘Later… with Jools Holland’ before a record deal was signed in 2021. The soulful three piece, fronted by a gospel singer and choir director alongside two producers, recently released their second EP ‘Bloodline’ as a follow up to debut EP, the word-of-mouth sensation ‘Love And Hate In A Different Time’.

Making its highly anticipated return to the festival calendar following a two-year hiatus, The Great Escape, the festival for new music, will be kicking off the 2022 festival season, playing host to the most exciting new music, alongside the music industry led TGE conference, from 12th -14th May 2022 in Brighton. Tickets for The Great Escape festival start from £75 and are on sale HERE.
