Strikes by Southern drivers and guards blamed for loss at train company

A Southern train at Brighton Station

Trains were halted earlier after a death on the tracks.

The train operator Southern said: “A person has been hit by a train between Barnham and Littlehampton / Horsham / Worthing.

“While emergency services attend to the scene, all lines are currently closed.

“Trains may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised as a result.

“Major disruption is expected until 10pm.”

The incident was understood to have happened near Ford.

Railway fencing should be made in such a way to discourage climbers and with no possibility of public access. This would make it impossible for those members of society who have no consideration of the psychological impact of their selfish action on the driver and clear up staff as well as the economic impact on the country or inconvenience to the public.

I new the man that has died. Your statement summarises only yourself. The effects of his death are inside of a community and with his family and friends. The driver of a train my thoughts are also with and they will be compensated in the only ways there employer can with time off and finance. A driverless train is coming soon so you can take that concern off your shoulders

My father was the one who was unfortunately hit by the train and hussar us right it was selfish to have done that to our workers of public transport, it may be a sad and in settling time for my family and I , but i I have no remorse for the action he took that day , I would like to send my deepest wishes to anyone on that platform or in the surrounding on that unfortunate day.

My son unfortunately witnessed this suicide whilst on the station platform. We have suffered a number of suicides within our close family and we would like to send our deep condolences to this man’s family and friends.
