People roll car to let buses through tight corner

People had to work together to roll a broken down car, which had been parked on a tight corner in Bevendean, to make way for traffic and buses.

A black car was left on the corner of Leybourne Road and Taunton Road, in Bevendean.

According to people near by, the car had to be pushed out of the way after it couldn’t be started.

Photos show two buses stuck around and behind the car, with drivers stood around the car.

On the Brighton and Hove Buses website, a service update for the 48 route said that because of roadworks and traffic build ups en route, buses would terminate and restart at Old Steine until further notice today.

No, he was waiting for his mate because him like the rest are fkn lonely and lost trying to do a bus route by them selves,

Obviously the first bus was stuck, so rather than the control room have the other buses take a diversion the next one also became stuck after the car couldn’t be moved.

The second one may be timetables to closely follow the first one so might have not been possible to divert.

Did you read the article? The likelihood is that the first bus was stopped by the black car on the corner and then the second bus followed 10 minutes later and got stuck behind the bus that couldn’t get past the car.

Sending a message all in capitals guarantees that it won’t be read. It’s the written equivalent to shouting.

Probably some idiot car driver who thought they were ok to avoid the new double red route line?! Surely parking on a junction is a traffic offence, and should be dealt with by Sussex Police? Funny how protesters are arrested for blocking the highway but you can just dump (park) your plcare anywhere, isn’t it??

Doesn’t the article state it had broken down?

48s are not scheduled every 10 mins, it’s supposed to be every 20 mins. Most days you are lucky if they turn up at all tbh. The service is atrocious.
