Georginio Rutter is back in the starting line up as Brighton and Hove Albion host Newcastle United at the Amex this afternoon (Saturday 18 October).
Rutter comes in for the injured Brajan Gruda, with the side otherwise unchanged from the team that scraped a draw at bottom side Wolverhampton Wanderers before the international break.
Danny Welbeck is down to start up front, with Rutter selected alongside Yankuba Minteh and Diego Gomez as well as Yasin Ayari and Carlos Baleba.
At the back, skipper Lewis Dunk is due to be joined by Mats Wieffer, Jan Paul van Hecke and Ferdi Kadioglu.
On the bench, alongside veteran midfielder James Milner, Albion have four teens – Charalampos Kostoulas, Stefanos Tzimas, Tom Watson and Nehemiah Oriola.
The other subs are Olivier Boscagli, Diego Coppola, Maxim De Cuyper and reserve keeper Jason Steele.
Albion boss Fabian Hürzeler has spoken of the threat posed by their towering new German frontman Nick Woltemade who signed from Stuttgart for £69 million.
The 23-year-old 6ft 6in forward has been finding the net regularly in the Premier League and now for his country.
And he’s not the only tall opponent that Brighton will need to watch, with 6ft 7in former Seagull Dan Burn continuing to prove his worth.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe reckons Burn was probably worth £30 million rather than the £13 million that Newcastle paid for him in January 2022.
The visitors also have another big player in goalkeeper Nick Pope, 6ft 6in, and proving hard to beat this season.
Newcastle are 11th in the Premier League with nine points from seven matches – the same as Brighton in 12th.
The two sides are separate by a goal difference of one, with the Toon scoring just six league goals so far and conceding five. Brighton have scored 10 and conceded 10.
This time last season a Welbeck goal gave Albion a 1-0 win on Tyneside and the teams drew 1-1 at the Amex in May, with Minteh scoring against his old club. Alexander Iask, now at Liverpool, bagged a late equaliser.
Kick off is scheduled for 3pm.
