A crash involving a lorry and a car on the A27 Brighton bypass caused a two-mile tailback and long delays for about 90 minutes during the morning rush-hour.
The crash happened on the westbound side of the road near Patcham at about 7am today (Wednesday 19 November).
Traffic was queuing back past Falmer and particularly affected drivers trying to turn off on to the A23.
Sussex Police said: “Police received a report of a collision between a car and lorry at 7am on Wednesday 19 November on the A27 near Patcham.
“No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.
“The road was cleared by around 8.30am after the vehicles had been moved from the area.”
