Magistrates have jailed a drink driver who led police on a chase through Brighton.
Jordan Lewis, 26, formerly of Brunswick Place, Hove, stole an almost new grey Seat Arona on Tuesday 22 July last year.
He was near the Seven Dials and caught close in Cannon Place, Brighton.
Lewis was jailed for about eight months in addition to the three years that he is already serving for having and distributing indecent images of children.
He was jailed for the child pornography offences in November by Judge Jeremy Gold at Hove Crown Court.
This morning (Friday 27 March), Sussex Police said: “A drink driver who led police on a pursuit through Brighton has been jailed.
“Roads Policing Unit officers were on patrol in the Seven Dials area on Tuesday 22 July last year when they spotted a Seat Arona being driven at speed.
“They followed the vehicle through the city until it came to a stop in Cannon Place where the driver and sole occupant was detained, ensuring he caused no harm to himself or anyone else.
“He was identified as Jordan Lewis, 26, of no fixed address.

“Lewis was arrested and charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving with no licence and driving with no insurance.
“He was also charged with drink driving – specifically, he had 137mg of alcohol per 100ml blood. The legal limit is 80mg.
“He answered ‘no comment’ to all questions in interview but admitted all four offences.
“At Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 11 March, Lewis was sentenced to a total of 34 weeks’ imprisonment due to the seriousness of the offences committed.
“He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge.”
